For the third year, the Municipality of Paralimni undertook the program "Mosaic of Cultures", which was presented today during a press conference, held at the Municipal Palace of Paralimni.
A press release of the Municipality of Paralimni states that "during the conference were presented the actions and energies of the project" Mosaic of Civilizations "in the presence of representatives of the Municipalities of Paralimni, Ayia Napa, Sotira and Deryneia".
It is added that the Municipality of Paralimni undertook for the third consecutive year to implement as a final beneficiary the Integration Program From Local Authorities "Mosaic of Cultures". The action is implemented by the Municipality of Paralimni as a leading partner, in collaboration with the other partners, the Municipality of Ayia Napa, the Municipality of Sotira, the Municipality of Deryneia and the company ENOROS Consulting Ltd and is expected to be completed in March 2019 ".
The budget of the action amounts to € 126.466,00, of which 90% are co-financed by the Asylum, Integration and Immigration Fund and 10% by national resources.
According to the press release, in his speech the Chairman of the Tenders Committee of the Municipality of Paralimni and member of the European Programs Committee Kyriakos Ioakeim stated that "the role of Local Authorities in assisting the process of integration of Third Country Nationals in Cypriot society is particularly important. The Municipality of Paralimni, in cooperation with its Partners, recognizes the central role that the Local Government is called to play, promoting social cohesion and creating favorable conditions for the adaptation and social integration of people from other countries outside the European Union ".
Mr. Joachim thanked the Partners, the program managers, the company "Enoros Consulting Ltd" and the European Programs Unit of the Ministry of Interior, for the cooperation so far and the successful implementation of the "Mosaic of Cultures" and expressed the certainty that " the program will be implemented successfully for another year ".
Representatives of the Municipalities of Ayia Napa, Deryneia and Sotira and the company "Enoros Consulting Ltd" said that the program provides the ways in which participants will acquire new skills for their future careers, will manage the emotions that can be created. due to different culture, stress and workload, they will understand their institutions, rights and obligations and will better understand the culture of the people of the country in which they live ".
According to the press release, within the framework of the program "training and education programs will be implemented in the field of computer learning, first aid seminars by specialized instructors, care services for children and the elderly and art courses".
Also, intercultural / artistic events-festivals will be organized with the participation of both Cypriot citizens and Third Country Nationals, intercultural and interactive children's festival, social support programs, social orientation programs through interactive seminars on the history and culture of Cyprus. with tours of museums and other attractions, actions to develop the sense of acceptance and understanding of citizens in diversity and actions related to the exchange of views, good practices and know-how.
