In response to statements by the Mayor of Paralimni, Mr. Theodoros Pyrillis, the Presidency of the Republic wishes to observe the following:
A. The President of the Republic is the only one according to the Constitution who has the responsibility and the right to appoint and dismiss the Ministers of the Government. Therefore, any responsibility is wrongly attributed to the Democratic Alarm.
B. The Council of Ministers is responsible for the implementation of the program positions of the President or takes decisions based on the well-understood interest of the entire territory of the country and not the areas where the ministers come from.
C. Based on the above principles, the Government not only did not ignore but, on the contrary, demonstrating its respect for the residents of the municipalities and communities of the free areas of Famagusta, announced the execution of projects in excess of € 114 million, not counting the promotion of the execution of the two marinas of Ayia Napa and Paralimni or the write-off of municipal debts amounting to € 8,2 million.
D. The views or any criticism from wherever it is exercised is absolutely respected, which is why it is not our intention to confront, especially with friends and associates.
