The fire that broke out late this morning in a reedbed in the area of Lake Paralimni was recently put under partial control.

The fire broke out around 11:30 in the morning in a reedbed on the east side of the lake, on the border of Paralimni.

Two fire trucks from the Famagusta Fire Station in Deryneia, a vehicle from the Xylofagos Fire Station, three excavators and a tanker of the Municipality of Paralimni as well as members of the Police Station and the Police Department responded immediately.
So far, the extent of the fire remains unknown, but both the low and sparse vegetation and the immediate intervention of the Fire Service prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent premises.
