With a forty-four year delay, the suffering for thousands of residents of the province of Famagusta ended today.

The Famagusta Land Registry, after relocating from its temporary headquarters in Larnaca to its new building in Paralimni, welcomed today hundreds of citizens who will now be served in the free province of Famagusta.

It is worth noting that the new building was a point of contention between some MPs and local officials, due to the way it was selected by the Government.

Nevertheless, both the local authorities and the residents of the province of Famagusta face with relief the transfer of the Land Registry to its new offices in Paralimni, which will also house the Department of Urban Planning and Housing.

Moreover, the free province of Famagusta continues to request the relocation of other Government services, such as the Famagusta District Administration and the other and main sections of the Famagusta District Court.
