Christos Orfanidis in his announcement states that the stadium "Tassos Markou" in Paralimni opened its doors in 1996. However, he notes, the Municipality of Paralimni utilizes it, renting it to various private companies and organizations for concerts.

He also mentions that in order to perform the concerts, giant screens need to be placed and without any thought or control they were placed on the plastic carpet of the stadium, as a result of which it was destroyed. Relevant complaints on the subject have been made by the gymnastics club of G.S.E.

The Cyprus Sports Organization approved, according to the announcement, following a request to replace the plastic carpet, paying hundreds of thousands of euros. According to him, the Municipality of Paralimni controlled and supervised the replacement. Unfortunately, he notes, the materials used to install the new stage carpet turned out to be expired and the whole design was wrong about the installation and this comes at a new cost.

At a recent meeting of the Parliamentary Audit Committee that discussed issues related to the CMO, MP Christos Orfanidis pointed out all the aforementioned events.

On March 9, 2018, he sent a letter requesting answers from the competent Minister regarding the amounts that have been given by the CMO so far for the correction of this issue as well as what amounts have been approved to be given, along with the supporting documents of each case and finally if they have agreed to give extra money than the original amount approved by the Agency. At the same time, he requested that the minutes from the meetings of the Organization on this issue be sent to the House of Representatives.

He states, finally, that he expects to receive the relevant answers.
