Today's victory (Saturday, January 27, 2018) of the Paralimni Youth Union against Apollon Limassol in Avgorou, was boyish as the "hosts" returned and took the pink card in a game that seemed lost.
Papadopoulos' team was back in the score with a difference of 19 points, but found the strength and courage to make a huge upset.
The Paralimni Youth Union not only got the victory against Apollon, but also against many adversities, one of which is the most basic: It played with only 3 foreigners in the match!
Paralimni played only with Hickey, Adwood and Myers, as Okonobo and Meijorden were present in the game. This fact sends messages in many directions and especially to all the teams that are afraid to play in the A 'category because they do not have the money to acquire foreigners.
The Union has become a coaching team. Papadopoulos does an excellent job on the team's bench, he has given each player of his "quiver" his own role and he takes advantage of it depending on the outcome of each match. Paralimni reached the 6 consecutive victories in the Basket League and has passed (even with the help of luck) to the Final 4 of the Cup. The goals have been achieved, even if there is one round left to complete the championship. What is certain is that the Union has won the sympathy of all basketball fans in Cyprus.
