The ENP "investor" who cheated a former football player is free on condition

Yesterday (12/02) the 32-year-old accused "investor" who wanted to become the president of the football team, Paralimni Youth Union and deceived a former football player and a female lawyer from Limassol, was released with restrictive conditions.

According to "Filelefthero", the arrest warrant of the 32-year-old expired yesterday and investigators of the TAE Limassol brought the "investor" again before the Court, where the case was registered and set for a hearing in the next period.

The 32-year-old was released on condition that he pay the sum of €50.000 with a valid guarantor, sign daily at a Police Station, hand over his travel documents and place his name on the list of persons whose exit is prohibited by the Cyprus. The defendant also applied for legal aid.

According to "Filelefthero", in order to convince his victims to give him money, the 32-year-old pretended that he had shares in his uncle's company in Africa and that he would receive an inheritance of 16,5 million euros, telling them that part of the money would be invested in ENP. He is also reported to have told them that he is awaiting approval for a €300.000 loan to invest in the team.
Being interrogated in writing, he admitted that he received a sum of money from the complainants, saying that he used it for personal debts he had and for the purchase of a car.
