I have prepared quite well for this race and I just want to apply the tactics I have worked with my coach (s.s. Antonis Giannoulakis), to make the necessary passes, to run according to my abilities and whatever go out ", said among others Eleni Artymata, who will become the first Cypriot athlete with four participations in the Olympic Games.

Asked if she was afraid of the big turns of the ninth treadmill, she said: "There were definitely better treadmills to run, but also worse. That is, I would prefer the outer corridors to the first or the second. I can develop my speed better from the outside than from the inside. Of course, for a long distance it is like running alone, when you are in the outer corridors, for that, the most important thing is to do my race, to run as I know, with the hope of qualifying for the semifinals ".

Milan Trajkovic placed in the second row, in the 2ndο treadmill, with American Roberts and Jamaican Thomas having the best time of the year with 13.11. The European champion in 2019 in indoor track and 7th Rio Olympian, comes from a difficult year, in which he faced significant injury problems, so his best performance this year is recorded at 13.82. However, lately he trained intensively under the guidance of Andreas Bem and hopes that at 19:18 (13.18 Cyprus time) he will do his best race this year and will be able to advance to the semifinals.
