Extreme sadness prevails in the community of Xylofagos, for the loss of 25-year-old Andreas Kota, after a car accident that took place in the early hours of Tuesday, where his motorcycle collided with a garbage truck.
The funeral of the unfortunate young man, according to posts by friends, will be held today at 17:00 in the afternoon, at the Church of Agios Georgios in Xylofagou.
Instead of wreaths, contributions will be made to the family.
The announcement of the Police regarding the fatal car accident:
"In a road collision that occurred around 2.45 am today on Michalaki Vrachimi Street in Xylofagou, 25-year-old Andreas Kota from Xylofagou lost his life.
Specifically, while the 25-year-old was driving his motorcycle on the above road, under conditions being investigated by the Police, he collided with a garbage truck driven by the 45-year-old. According to the tests, the garbage truck seems to have stopped the course of the motorcycle.
The unfortunate 25-year-old was thrown from the motorcycle by the collision and was fatally injured while the motorcycle was completely destroyed by fire that broke out after the collision. It is noted that Kota did not wear a protective helmet.
The driver of the garbage truck, who is expected to be arrested on a warrant, underwent a breathalyzer test with zero indication.
