The press conference of the "Famagusta for Cyprus" Initiative was held today, March 31, 2021, where the descent of the Initiative in the upcoming parliamentary elections was officially announced with a Pancyprian ballot.
The conference took place in the nomads area near Ledra Palace, on the green line with important semantic significance as emphasized.
One of the founders of the Initiative, Mrs. Anna Marangou, began her speech by stating that "we gathered here with our eyes and souls focused on the other half of our part of our homeland, which is the quintessence of the reason for the existence of the Initiative".
He then stated:
We made this decision because we want this place to have a future, to look our children in the eyes without guilt. So that they have no reason to leave their land, so that they can be proud of the history and the image of their homeland. We are here with clear and concise proposals and we all share the same positions on the important issues that concern the place without differences and personal agendas.
Because whether we like it or not, the solution goes through Famagusta. Famagusta was lost, the hope for a solution was lost. Not any solution. A specific solution, which is favored by the United Nations, the Security Council, the international community and all the presidents of the Republic of Cyprus. We refuse to give half of our homeland to the conquerors. Because voices in this direction began to be heard. We refuse to be bidders. We want our homeland united and reunited.
In our ballot you will see people from Limassol, Larnaca, Kyrenia, Nicosia and Varos all with a common vision, and a debt to the homeland. We gathered, we joined forces to claim the obvious: the reunification of our place that will bring the fight against corruption and the prosperity of the place.
Yes, we believe and we are committed to the reunification of our place above all. Once this place is liberated from the yoke of the past, occupation, foreign troops, guarantees, and becomes a normal state, only then will it prosper and prosper for the good of us all.
For a true and substantial concern and action for the environment in the face of the scourge of climate change. For a health for all and not for the few… For a rule of law where everyone but everyone can enjoy the joy of life in this paradise called Cyprus.

For Famagusta the candidates are: Christakis Nikita, Maria Filippou, Christos Ioannidis, Emilia Mastri Christoforidou, Vassos Oikonomou, Claire Hatzikakou, Michalis Christou Kittos, Alkis Sarri, Georgios K. Stavri, Sotos.
