The Community Council of Acheritos expresses its displeasure and indignation.
The sirens did not sound in the refugee settlement of Agios Georgios Aheritos despite the assurance from the Civil Defense that the problem identified on 15/07/2023, the day of the treacherous coup, has been fixed.
If in times of peace some are not able to keep the memories alive through this institution, let the sirens sound on 15/07/2023 at 8,20 a.m. the day of the treacherous coup and on 20/07/2023 at 5,30 a.m. on the morning of the Turkish invasion, then all that remains is for them to declare their incompetence.
The Community Council of Acheritos, which is located in one of the most critical parts of our island, where on such days the memories and experiences of the treacherous coup and the Turkish invasion are more intense, will immediately proceed with the installation of its own sound system, both in terms of the tragic events of 1974 and for other emergencies that may arise.
