With the unanimous vote of the bill for the prohibition of filling vacancies in the public and in the wider public sector, the recruitments in the public are frozen for 2015 as well.

In fact, the ban on filling in any way any vacancy in the public service and in the wider public sector is extended for another year.

The regulation is deemed necessary, given the ongoing financial crisis and the extraordinary fiscal conditions due to which this ban was in force in 2013 and 2014.

At the same time, compliance with the obligation contained in the memorandum to reduce the number of public sector employees by 4,500 during the period 2012-2016 is achieved through, inter alia, the freezing of recruitment of new staff in the public service and the wider public sector.
