Police found means of capturing wild birds such as rodents and iron traps at the home of a 21-year-old man in Deryneia who illegally possessed a shotgun.
According to the Police, around 16:30 on Tuesday afternoon, members of the Thera Service and the Deryneia Police Station, went to a house in Deryneia to execute a search warrant.
While he was outside the house, the 21-year-old tenant of the house arrived driving his car. Police investigated the car in which a disassembled shotgun was found, for which the 21-year-old did not have a license. The weapon belongs to his 49-year-old father.
A search of his home followed, where 27 spears and 17 iron traps were found to catch wild birds.
The 21-year-old was taken to the Deryneia police station where he was charged in writing and released.
