a1 118 Nea FamagustaThe third Clergy Assembly of the Holy Metropolis of Constantia was convened yesterday, Thursday (May 9, 2013) in the courtyard of the Metropolis in Paralimni.

Since the founding of the Holy Metropolis of Constantia and Famagusta, one of the primary goals of its first pastor, His Eminence Metropolitan Vassilios, has been and remains the connection of the inhabitants of the city and the province of Famagusta with the work of the Metropolis. For this purpose, the Diocese organizes various events, at the center of which are every year the Festive Celebrations on the occasion of the memory of St. Epiphanius, Archbishop Constantia, which this year took place from 5 to 12 May 2013.

In the context of this year's Celebrations, Panierotatos convened the Third Clergy Assembly of our Metropolis, which was honored by the presence of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Nikos Anastasiadis, who addressed a greeting to the Assembly and Archbishop Makaripakos Chrysostomos, who also greeted the Assembly.

The Assembly was attended by the clergy of the Holy Diocese and the displaced clergy from our metropolitan area who serve in the Holy Archdiocese or in other Dioceses, the Members of the Throne Committee, the ecclesiastical committees of the occupied and free parishes and common parishes. , the Members of the Coordinating Committee of the Christian Women's Associations, the cantors, the executives and collaborators in the catechism and social work of the parishes, the deputies of Famagusta, the mayors of Paralimni, Ayia Napa, Deryneia and Sotira, the representative of the , municipal councilors, teachers, representatives of refugee associations and representatives of organized groups, organizations, associations and unions in the province of Famagusta.

The guests were welcomed by the Most Venerable Metropolitan of Constantia - Famagusta, Mr. Vassilios, developing the theme: "Give us our daily bread."

Then, during a musical break, the song "The Pilgrimage" was presented, which recently took first place in the Cypriot song contest.

Afterwards, the keynote speaker of the Assembly, His Eminence the Metropolitan of Demitriados and Almyros, Mr. Ignatios, raised the topic: "1700 years since the Edict of Milan: Religious Freedom and Non-Religion".

The whole event ended with an artistic program from the Cultural Workshop "By the Lake".
