The great heir of Salih Tatlici's untold fortune is "Roma" Marika Tatlici, according to a Turkish court ruling after an eight-year trial. Marika is now the sixth richest woman in Turkey.

The trial continued between Marika and her son Ugur with opponents of Salih Tatliji's three children by his first wife Bendrie Kamer. Finally, the court decided to give the property of three billion dollars to Marika and Ugur.

The story of Marika, who became famous in Turkey, began in 1970. The Roman daughter of Constantinople, Eugene and Katina, started working at the age of 17 at Salih Tatlitzi patisserie in Karakιοy (Galata). The illicit relationship with her boss soon began, which lasted 25 whole years before he married her. He, Salih Tatlici, was then 37 years old, married to Bendrie with whom they had three children. Bendrie was his aunt's daughter and she spent several years with him. Quarrels between the couple were a daily occurrence, until Salih Tatlζίcγε left Diyarbakμr for Istanbul in 1960 and opened the patisserie where Marika started working.

His bond with the young Romia was not hidden for long. Both families found out, but despite the reactions, Marika and Salih Tatliji started living together. Ten years later, in 1977, Marika gave birth to their son, Ugur, in Athens. She gave him her last name and christened him a Christian.

The "illegality" ended only when Salih Tatliji managed to get a divorce from Bedrie in 1991. His three sons from his first marriage reacted and clashed violently with their father.

Tatlici's answer was to transfer his seaside residence in Genikioi (Nichori) in Marika's name. He also left another mansion near the sea to their son Ugur. He also transferred high value shares and stocks in Marika's name. In 1992 he married her and Marika changed her name and surname. From Marika Bachtsivanoglou to Nurten Tatlitzi.

However, their marriage lasted only 16 years.

Salih Tatliji died in London after a battle with cancer. According to his will, almost all of his property goes to Marika and their son Ugur. And it's not just what he has in Istanbul. They also acquired property in Antalya, Miami, Dubai… He left little to his three sons in Bendrie.

Neither Bedrie nor his sons accepted this, which is why they insulted the will by accusing Marika. "She did everything she could to bring him into conflict with his first wife and to end his relationship with his children. Eventually, she managed to marry him. "She reached the top from scratch and became one of the richest women in the world," their lawyers told the court.
