But for the first time, such a large percentage -51% - of vehicles without a renewed license remains, until the last day before the start of complaints. That is, the license was renewed in almost one month of the renewal period, only for half of the vehicles (320.000), since the total number of registered vehicles amounts to 650.000. Statistically, every year 8% -10% of vehicles remain without license renewal.
The situation is attributed to the financial crisis and the difficulty of many to save extra money for the marketing authorization. Another characteristic is the fact that the number of owners who renew the registration of their vehicle for one semester, instead of one year, has increased.
It is expected that a significant number of landlords are waiting today and tomorrow to receive their salary to pay the fee. This could put pressure on both banks and affiliates, and even more so on JCC and TOM IT systems, which accept and process all payments.
However, the TOM and the Ministry of Communications, consider that there is no issue of extension and from tomorrow the complaints start.
