Ayia Napa broke another Guinness record

A video with the caption "We did it" has been circulating on social media since the morning.

This is yesterday (Sunday, September 25) the effort of the Municipality of Ayia Napa, to break the Guinness record with the largest number of dancers in the Cypriot traditional dance "Sousta".

A total of 450 people, dressed in traditional Cypriot costumes, participated in the Municipality's effort.

The effort was made after five in the afternoon along the promenade and the whole event was held under the auspices of the Commissioner for Volunteering and Non-Governmental Organizations Giannis Giannakis.

The choreography was attended by a total of 450 dancers, men and women, dressed in traditional Cypriot costumes, from 22 different dance schools.

There were many who went on their own to participate in the effort of the Municipality.

The dancers danced in sync for five consecutive minutes the steps and figures of the traditional dance "Sousta", while the effort was recorded by experts of the Guinness record.

The Guinness World Record also included a dance group from Russia, whose members came to Cyprus, learned the choreography and danced with the other dancers.

A total of 450 people participated in the effort, while more than 384 people actually had to take part.

450 dancers from all over Cyprus dancing together with traditional costumes in Agia Napa harbor for an attempt to be in Guinness world records! (Unofficially we did it cause last record was 353 dancers :)))!
