AKEL MP Skevi Koukouma refers to the delay in the location and operation of green spots in the free area of Famagusta in a letter to the Minister of Interior Konstantinos Petridis.
As mentioned in the letter, the professionals who deal with the collection and transportation of useless materials, mainly from construction, are subjected to great inconvenience and expenses by transporting their materials over long distances.
This significantly affects the activities of professionals in this sector, at a time when infrastructure renovations in the tourism sector have increased, and for this reason there is an increased volume of waste materials.
In the letter, Ms. Koukouma asks for information on the stage at which the processes are in order to create green spots in the area, having in mind, as mentioned, that the Municipality of Deryneia has already proposed specific areas.
At the same time, the MP requests that a meeting of the Minister be arranged with the affected professionals for further information and exchange of views on the schedules and the overall planning of the resolution of the issue.
