The Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment has decided to support the fishermen of Cyprus with 300 thousand euros as compensation for various damages they had in the last year from dolphins.
The announcement was made by the competent Minister after the completion of today's session of the Council of Ministers.
"This is a measure that will benefit around 350 fishermen and I hope that by the end of the year this aid will have been paid to fishermen," he noted.
At the same time, he added, by the end of the year it is expected to pay the capital subsidies of 4 million euros to farmers and the compensation to potato growers for 2010.
