Loud names are among the people nominated for the presidency in the run-up to Christmas. Among them, three convicts for the tragedy in Marie and the former governor of the Central Bank Christodoulos Christodoulou.
For the latter, the Prisons did not submit a request for early release, but a letter was sent from the Minister of Justice, Ionas Nikolaou, to the Attorney General, informing him that the former minister acquires the right to pardon the following Christmas and it would be unfair for 2 - 3 days not to benefit.
Christodoulou was sentenced on October 27 to five months in prison.
For the three of the Fire Service, Andrea Nikolaou director, Pambo Charalambous deputy director and Andrea Loizidis, former commander of EMAK, who are regularly released in early February, there is a footnote that their appeal is pending.
