A big event-tribute is organized by the Community Council and the Avgorou Choir honoring one of the most important exponents and creators of Cypriot traditional music, Mr. Kosti Kosteas, The Wednesday, 13 February 2013, at the Multipurpose Center of Avgoros on 7:30 pm. Kostis Kosteas was born in Lysis in 1925 and connected his name mainly with the creation of the Association of Solution Artists (SYKALY) but also with his long-term collaboration with Michalis Pasiardis and also the great Lysian poet of Cyprus, Pavlos Liasidis.
The event will be addressed by the Mayor of Famagusta, Mr. Symeon Pastos and the Deputy Prefect of Famagusta, Mr. Andreas Ktoridis.
The Choir of the Community Council of Avgoros will present the songs created entirely or dressed musically by Kostis Kosteas.
At the end of the event, both Kostis Kosteas himself and the members of SYKALY, Chrystalla and Giorgoula Stavrou (who are members of the Avgorou Choir) will be honored, as well as the most famous singer of K. Kosteas songs and a member of the Trio SYKALY, Christofis Tzirtzipis.
