The aim is to determine whether the purchase and construction of such large houses is justified based on the income they declare and are taxed. It will also be examined whether these owners have a tax file and complete a tax return.

The audit will cover up to six years back and concerns the building permits issued from 1/1/2007 until 31/8/2012. In this direction, the sending of letters calling on 12 individuals and companies to present relevant supporting documents began as early as the 1.000th of this month.

Last October, the TEP requested in letters to the municipalities and prefectures to be notified of all building permits issued and concerning houses over 400 sq.m. In total, data were submitted to the ICU for building permits concerning 1.000 individuals and companies that are owners of detached houses with an area of ​​400 sq.m. up to 499 sq.m. and another 1.000 individuals and companies that have detached houses over 500 sq.m., which will be checked as a matter of priority.
