The tourist area of Famagusta aims to maintain the very high occupancy of this period until the beginning of October. And there is strong evidence that this is entirely possible.

According to the director of the Famagusta Tourism Development and Promotion Company, Lakis Avraamidis, the flow of bookings in both Ayia Napa and Protaras is very satisfactory and anticipates that high occupations will be achieved not only in September but also in October. Tourist traffic will be satisfactory in November, under certain conditions. He clarified that the highest quality tourism in terms of per capita expenditure and accommodation in star accommodation is the tourism that comes to Cyprus in September.

The request, explained Mr. Avraamidis, is generally to have flights, scheduled, low cost, but mainly and primarily chartered, which transport purely tourist passenger public. But also for the next summer tourist season, the aim is to start chartered flights to Cyprus as early as possible. These flights usually start in April. The goal is to start earlier in 2017 even from March, if that becomes possible. The most interesting for the tourism industry are certainly the charter flights from the United Kingdom, the Russian Federation and the Nordic countries, added the director of the Famagusta ETAP.

From there and about all the tourism development companies of all the tourist areas in the next period, together with the CTO, PASYXE and STEK, will focus on the promotion and advertising in all the important tourism markets and the markets that gather growth prospects. . Indicatively, Mr. Avraamidis mentioned the Moscow tourism fair in September, the St. Petersburg fair in October and the most important London fair next November, in which all the tourism partners will participate.

According to PASYXE estimates, the additional benefits that Cypriot tourism receives this year can be maintained over time, even if it seems that some conjunctures that led to these benefits tend to disappear. Mainly in terms of the main markets for tourism in our country, which are Britain and Russia. The first signs continue to be very encouraging. And this is mainly based on the fact that the English tour operators maintained the positions they had in their programs for Cyprus in 2016 and for 2017.
