Onisilos Sotiras is facing the most difficult hours in his history. The many financial problems have plunged the Association to the bottom, with its Management finding it difficult to respond.
In his statements on the official website of the union, the chairman of the Board, Michalis Georgiou, stated the following:
"Our union is facing the most critical hours in its 35-year history. The many financial problems and the unsatisfactory response of the people have stuck us at the bottom. I am not talking about football, but about the financial situation of the Association. Many mistakes have been made in recent years, including the current Board of Directors where I am chairman. We all have responsibilities for how the union has reached this state. "But we could have had a hard time coping this year, but the latest decision of the Judicial Committee of the KOP has destroyed us."
Asked what this case was, Mr. Georgiou replied:
"It is a case of 2008 with Christodoulos Ttoulias and George Panagi where they claimed the amount of 70.000 euros. The first worked for the Association all three days. He came on Friday and left on Monday. A three-year contract was presented to the Judicial Committee with the Directors of the Association of the period 2008 stating that they have not signed such an agreement. An appeal was lodged by the Association where about two weeks ago the Court of Appeal decided to pay the amount of 70.000 euros to the mentioned persons, which must be paid by the Association. This decision has literally killed the union. It is an amount we can not pay. Some members have even asked for the closure of our association. We do not know what to do. We decided like her Monday 30 / 12 to accomplish Extraordinary General Assembly to decide on the fate of the Association. All possibilities for the survival of the Association are open. "We are in danger of closing down with some people making decisions without respecting the history of a club."
