As the President of the Youth Council of the Municipality of Paralimni, Christos Farkonis, explained to KYPE, “the project is an implementation of the Youth Council and was financed by the Municipality of Paralimni. For the work and after a special tender procedure, we chose an artist who is currently considered the most famous in Cyprus and is none other than Achilles Michaelides otherwise Paparazzi ".

The artist, he continued, "literally perfectly captured the meaning we wanted to give to this work and managed to give to the once colorless, odorless and hazy wall, exactly what we wanted to have, that is, many bright colors, a note of coolness, vitality, youth , plenty of sea but also beach ".

He added that "the meaning of graffiti is exactly the first image that the visitor obtains entering Paralimni and the welcome he receives from our Municipality. The project has three main characteristics of Paralimni, namely the traditional windmill, the Metropolitan Church of Agios Georgios and the sun at the beginning of the graffiti and symbolizes the first sunrise in Europe, which takes place in Cape Greco ".

Answering a relevant question, Mr. Farkoni stated that "when the wall was measured, we realized that it is the largest in Cyprus, ie it is 135 meters long and with the completion of the project is the largest single graffiti in all of Cyprus. We believe that the graffiti depictions give the visitor the feeling of exactly a "long" journey, starting from the first sunrise of Europe, until the bright summer nights, the endless sea, the umbrellas, the sun, the light, the tourism and everything the rest".

He also explained that "the artist worked for a whole month on this work, since in addition to the fact that it is the largest single wall in all of Cyprus, it also has a variable height, ie there are points which are two meters and other points with three meters height".

Asked about the name given to the project, Christos Farkonis replied "that" The Longest Journey "was intentionally given to the project in order to create the impression of the attraction. The title also has a double meaning: The Longest refers to it as the largest graffiti in length and Journey is to show just one journey, which starts from space, comes to earth, a little girl enters the sea, a girl he hovers and takes a photo while at the end a figure with a backpack can be seen, which are essentially the traveler's memories from his journey that has just been completed ".
