The Cyprus Human Resources Development Authority (ANAD) is offering new training opportunities for 73.200 employees and the unemployed, at a cost of € 21,9 million in the second half of 2020.

In a statement, the Authority states that it has approved the Multi-Operational Training Programs that will be implemented by Vocational Training Centers (KEK) in the Second Semester of 2020.

He reminds that under the conditions created by the parody of the corona, all the approved specifications as well as the approved training programs for the First Semester 2020 were approved for the Second Semester 2020 without the submission of applications by KEK, and with the possibility of application number of programs increased by 50% compared to the number approved for the first half of 2020.

The announcement clarifies that the programs cover issues related to all sectors of the economy and all categories of professions, such as effective business management, new technologies and innovations, green and blue skills, renewable energy sources, energy savings, safety and health at work. instructor training, General Data Protection Regulation, basic digital skills and specialized skills in various professions.

It is noted that, following the decision of the HRDA to immediately promote the use of distance learning methods in the context of its efforts to help prevent the spread of coronavirus, KEK have the opportunity to implement training programs with both in-person training and distance e-learning or a combination of both methods. Relevant is the Supplement of Policy Guides and Procedures "Utilization of Distance Learning Methods in Training Programs", which came into force on March 26, 2020.

The implementation of the training programs is done only by certified by AnAD Vocational Training Centers (KEK), in certified Vocational Training Structures (DEK) and with certified Vocational Training Instructors (EEK), the Authority clarifies.

Multi-Operational Training Programs - Usual

The programs are implemented in the framework of the HRDA policy to provide incentives to employers in order to continuously train their employees to meet the needs of their companies / organizations. Additionally, the unemployed registered in the Employment Offices of the Public Employment Service also participate in these programs, with the aim of integrating them into employment through the upgrading of their knowledge and skills. 2.432 programs were approved for the participation of 68.100 people with a total cost of € 19m.

 Multi-Operational Training - Life Importance Programs

The aim of these programs is to meet the training needs of companies / organizations and their employees, mainly managerial and scientific staff, in specialized or innovative issues that are important priorities for the local economy. These programs utilize trainers with extensive experience and include both institutional and intra-business part. 56 programs were approved for the participation of 1.600 people with a total cost of € 2,4m.

Continuing Training Programs of Trade Union Executives

The aim is to provide incentives to unions and trade unions to participate with their executives in training programs organized by Trade Union Training Centers, on issues related to their union status. 124 programs were approved for the participation of 3.500 people with a total cost of € 0,5m.

 Submission of new specifications and training programs

In addition, AnAD allows KEK to submit a number of new specifications and training programs for the period from 1 to 15 June 2020 for implementation in the period September - December 2020.
