Plans for Renewable Energy Sources were approved by the Council of Ministers, with the approved budget amounting to 15.294.118 euros for businesses and 16.470.588 euros for homes, for the period 2014-2020.

According to an official announcement, the "Save-Upgrade" Plan for businesses and homes is included in the list of projects that are expected to be co-financed by the Cohesion Policy Funds.

The Plans aim at the energy upgrade of homes and buildings owned by businesses, through large-scale renovations, while they can cover individual energy saving measures that will be implemented in homes of vulnerable and vulnerable consumers.

The Plans are expected to help reduce the energy costs of homes and businesses while enhancing their competitiveness.

They will also contribute to the broader goals of the strategy to support selected sectors of the economy, to strive to recover competitiveness and to help increase energy savings.

Moreover, the Council of Ministers, during today's session under the Presidency of the Republic, Giannakis Omirou, authorized the Minister of Energy to modify, where necessary, the terms and provisions of the Plans and to introduce institutions that facilitate their implementation.

The Minister was also authorized to bring to the Plans any changes required by the European Commission or the Directorate-General for European Programs.
