Recipients of guaranteed minimum income, recipients of public aid, low-income and trapped are the beneficiaries of the special Christmas allowance, which is expected to be given before the holidays and whose cost reaches the amount of 18.000.000 euros.

Christos Diomidou, Spokesman for the Benefit Management Service, clarified on the show "Alpha Information" that the amount received by a beneficiary for a guaranteed minimum income or public assistance is irrelevant, because the amount is the difference between needs and income.

What relates to the first two categories is that 80% of the needs are estimated, which is set at 480 euros for the applicant, 240 euros for the wife and children from 14 to 28 and 144 euros for children under 14.

The amount of the allowance is:

At 384 euros for the applicant
At 192 euros for the wife and any dependent child over 14 years
At 115 euros for each dependent child under 14 years
Thus, for a family of four with two children under the age of 14, for example, the amount will move to 806 euros, while the amount of 960 euros for families with four children over the age of 14.

Much earlier than the holidays, according to the Ministry's plans, the allowance will be given at the same time as the minimum common income, so that it can be used for emergencies, and more specifically on Thursday, December 12th.

As for the low-income pensioners, those who receive a small check will receive the same amount of Christmas allowance, while in any case, no one will receive less than 100 euros, while the upper amount is set at 220 euros. The monthly pension of the low pensioner will be given on December 13, while on Monday, December 16, the payment of the Christmas present is scheduled.

Finally, mothers who have four or more children, over the age of 18, will receive an honorary allowance for a mother with many children, over the age of 100, on Tuesday, December 17th.
