Putin's response to Biden as "murderer"

The reaction of the Russian president to the attack of his American counterpart

Russian President Vladimir Putin himself responded to the statement of US President Joe Biden, which provoked a reaction from Moscow.

Biden said he believed Putin was "a murderer" and warned he would "suffer the consequences" in an interview with ABC television.

"As for the statement made by my American colleague, we are really, as he said, personal acquaintances. What should I answer him? I would tell him: stay healthy! "I wish him health," Putin was quoted as saying by Sputnik.

Putin added that he was saying this "without irony, without jokes."

The Russian president also said that there are many honest and right people in the US establishment and Russia will rely on them. Putin also said that the US leadership wants to have relations with Russia only on the terms of Washington and Russia will cooperate only on terms that are beneficial to it.

It is noted that Moscow, after Biden's interview, announced that it is inviting its ambassador to the United States for extraordinary consultations on the future of Russian-American relations. Ambassador Anatoly Antonov is due to leave on Saturday.

"During meetings at the Russian Foreign Ministry and with other bodies, the issue of the means by which Russian-American relations in crisis can be repaired will be raised," the Russian embassy in the US wrote on its Facebook page last night.

According to the embassy, "the reckless statements of US officials are in danger of leading to the collapse of the already highly conflicting relations" between Moscow and Washington.

The recall of an ambassador, although Moscow has officially described the move as an "invitation", is rare in Russian diplomacy.

Russia's lower house of parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin, on Wednesday accused Biden of "insulting" all Russians and "attacking" his country.

It is noted that in an interview that was broadcast on Wednesday (17/3), by the American television network ABC, Biden answered "yes", when asked if he believes that Putin is a murderer. He also added that the Russian president has no soul and promised to pay the price for Moscow's alleged involvement in the 2020 presidential election in favor of Donald Trump, something the Kremlin denies.
