Two of them died at the hospital
The horror was spread today by a 39-year-old woman in a kindergarten in the city of Chongqing, China, when she attacked children returning to their classroom, after a break.
According to the first information, the woman rushed to the kindergarten armed with a knife and started injuring the young students with it. At least 14 infants were stabbed by the disturbed woman before teaching staff managed to stop her.
Two of these children died at the hospital, according to some local media, but the exact number of victims has not been confirmed.
The perpetrator, who according to the local authorities is named Louis, was arrested shortly after the attack in the courtyard of the kindergarten. According to Chinese media, outraged parents who had meanwhile gathered from neighboring houses tried to lynch the woman, but in the end she was "saved" by the police.
The motive for the attack remains unknown, as according to the Associated Press, the woman only stated that "the state had not treated her well", without explaining why she targeted the innocent children.
Meanwhile, images of horror are circulating on the internet, showing seriously injured infants as well as snapshots from the woman's arrest.
