The two F35 fighter jets, which are being delivered to Texas, USA, in a special ceremony, will arrive in Turkey in 2020, according to Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoλουlu.
Mevlüt Çavuşoλουlu stated,
"The aircraft will be delivered. But by 2020 there will be a series of trainings. The planes will come to Turkey in 2020 ".
Turkish pilots go to the US for training
Following the delivery of the two fighter jets by Lockheed Martin, the two Turkish pilots will fly to Arizona, specifically to Luke Air Base, where they will be trained on the aircraft. Upon completion of their training they will return to Turkey with the F35.
Under the agreement, which involves 12 countries, some of the aircraft parts are produced in Turkey and transported to the United States. Turkey will receive 100 aircraft under the agreement, while the order for the 30 has already been placed.
