The vaccination portal opens tomorrow - What ages it concerns

The data with the vaccinations and the increased flow of vaccines that reaches our country

The vaccination against COVID-19 is our shield against the virus and the way to get back to more normal conditions sooner. With the increase in vaccination coverage we take life back into our own hands, unlock the economy, society, tourism and travel, shield the Health System and return to normalcy. Above all, with the vaccination we reduce to a minimum the possibility of serious illness, hospitalization and death.

Re-possibility for vaccination planning for ages 61-63:

Following the design of the National Vaccination Plan, The Vaccination Portal will be available tomorrow, April 15, from 7:30 am to 8 pm, only for people aged 61-63. They will be available 9,707 vaccination appointments with the available AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines at Vaccination Centers in all Provinces.

Data:

Until April 13 held at a total of 193,537 vaccinations, of which 137,004 concern the granting of 1th  dose and 56,533 concern the administration of both doses. On the 1thη10,693 people belonging to the vulnerable groups received a dose of the vaccine, while 715 home vaccinations were performed in bedridden people.

In relation to vaccination coverage, 81,65% of people aged 80 and over have been vaccinated with at least the first dose, while the corresponding percentage in the age group of 1-70 years reaches 79%. Vaccination coverage in 76,34% of people aged 78 and over had positive results, since the number of cases has decreased sharply in this age group, while a significant reduction is observed in people aged 70 and over who need treatment.

During this period, the vaccination of people over 55 years of age with a 1η dose. The goal is for vaccination coverage to age, so that they receive at least 1η dose of the vaccine until the beginning of May in people aged 45 years and older.

Increased flow of vaccines reaches our country:

From December 2020, when the distribution of vaccines in the Member States began, until June 2021, it is expected that Cyprus will have received 1,000,000 doses of vaccine.

In this way, the prospect of returning to normalcy, with the opening of baptisms and weddings, the holding of events, the unlocking of tourism and the resumption of travel, comes closer.

The time horizon for achieving a return to normalcy is interrelated with the evolution of vaccinations, after vaccination against COVID-19 is the only way to get our lives back in our hands.
