MOKAS speaks of incorrect information of the OCCRP in relation to the case of the naturalization of Saudi Arabia and members of his family.

MOKAS announcement regarding the OCCRP publication, entitled "The Golden Friends and Neighbors of Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades" dated 9/8/2021, and the reports and question marks in relation to MOKAS actions, on the Saudi naturalization case and members of his family, states that "there were no actions and issues to be examined by MOKAS, on the basis of its statutory responsibilities, since these were basically tax issues".

MOKAS states that this position was "explained at the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee for the Monitoring of Development Plans and the Control of Public Expenditure on 13 February 2020, to which the publication refers, where the relevant report of the Auditor General was discussed".

"In view of the above, it appears that the OCCRP was not properly informed of what was said at the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee, which is contained in detail in the relevant Minutes of that meeting," the statement concluded.
