At the Attica Grammar School, on Monday, August 14, 2023, the relatives of the victims of the "Helios" plane tragedy will meet once again for their 18th annual memorial service.
As Niki Michailidou stated to KYPE, on behalf of the relatives of the victims of the plane tragedy, the memorial service for the 121 victims will be held at 09:00 in the chapel of the Dormition of the Virgin, which their relatives have built in Grammatico.
Next, the relatives will climb to the top of the mountain, at the place where the plane fell, where the traditional trisago will be performed for the repose of their souls.
The annual memorial service will be officiated by the Metropolitan of Kifissia, Amarousi and Oropou Kyrillos, while the presence of several relatives of the victims of the tragedy is expected.
This year marks 18 years since the fall of the Helios company plane, which claimed the lives of 121 people, including 22 children, including all 6 crew members. 103 were of Cypriot origin and 12 Greeks.
