Following the recent decision of the Council of Ministers on March 3, 2022, to release the positive cases of the disease Covid-19 on the 7th day, the Ministry of Health informs that from Tuesday, March 8, 2022, virus positive individuals can be released on the 7th day, provided that they have secured a negative rapid antigen detection test (Rapidtest) from predetermined points indicated by the Ministry Health and show no active symptoms.

The procedure to be followed is as follows:

  • Those who are positive for the virus will be informed on the 6th day of self-limitation via text message, about the predetermined point and the time they should arrive for the Rapid test on the 7th day. It is recalled that the date of laboratory diagnosis of the case, is considered as day zero (the count starts from the next day).
  • Due to the retroactive effect of the decision, the first update that will take place on Monday, March 7, 2022, will concern virus positive people who on March 8, 2022, will have completed no only on the 7th but also on the 8th or 9th day from their initial diagnosis.
  • Only the laboratory tests that will be performed at the predetermined points of the Ministry of Health, will be recognized as valid for release purposes before the 10th day. (Those who do not follow the above procedure will be able to be released automatically based on the procedure valid on the 10th day).
  • If the result is negative on the 7th day, the positive incident should continue its self-limitation until the release message is received from the Ministry of Health where it will be released the next day (8th day of restriction) and will can issue the disease certificate through the portal https: //www.eudcc.gov.cy/.
  • It is emphasized that during the release examination the same identification data that was declared when they were registered on the platform should be declared as positive incidents. (identification document, date of birth and telephone number) to avoid technical problems and delays in release.
  • If the result is positive, the person has the opportunity to repeat the examination process on the 8th or even the 9th day, rushing to the same point indicated by the Ministry of Health on the 6th day, or to be limited to the 10th day where he will be released without additional examination.

It is emphasized that the measures of social distancing and protection (double surgical mask, or protective mask type ΚΝ95 or FFP2) must be observed at the site of the examination.
