Exclusion of children with special needs from regular laboratory tests

Following the instructions of the Ministry of Health, until the completion of the vaccination program for these children and for their safety, they should limit their movements and contacts to what is absolutely necessary.

special needs, laboratory testing

Students with special needs attending schools of all levels, who for serious medical reasons can not undergo regular laboratory tests (PCR or Rapid Test), can be excluded for the purpose of attending school and for transportation to and from this.

According to a circular of the Ministry of Education, following the instructions of the Ministry of Health, until the completion of the vaccination program for these children and for their safety, they should limit their travels and contacts to those absolutely necessary for the winter, because the risk of getting infected is very high. Their priority, as stated in the circular, is their health, safety and education.

According to the instructions, the Ministry of Health, recognizing the negative effects of restricting children at home, grants them a temporary exemption from the mandatory SafePass only for the school premises. However, all other protection measures should be taken on the school premises:

- daily thermometry of the child before coming to school

- keeping distances

- hand hygiene

- good ventilation of enclosed spaces

- surface disinfection

- strict recommendation for vaccination of persons who come in contact with the child

Regarding the use of the mask, for schools of all levels, an exception to its mandatory use applies to students who are special cases, where its use is not recommended due to underlying diseases or other conditions. Such exemptions may be granted to students with developmental disorders, disabilities or other special medical conditions, which may be affected by the use of a mask, provided that a written certificate is provided by a specialist, personal physician or pediatrician.

For Exceptional Schools, the exception remains that the presentation of SafePass and the use of a mask for students is not mandatory.

The above clarifications have already been incorporated in the Health Protocols and have entered into force.
