A plane that was preparing to take off from Larnaca International Airport was delayed on Saturday due to a passenger who decided to smoke.

According to information from SigmaLive, the aircraft was scheduled to depart at 19:30 bound for Athens, with the passengers tied up normally, when the crew announced that there would be a delay.

The reason was that a particular passenger decided to light a cigarette inside the cabin, despite the fact that the ban is explicit. Despite the crew's urgings to comply with the regulations and to extinguish the cigarette, the passenger did not comply, responding in an ironic manner.

The solution was given by the Airport Police, which was called to intervene, with results, to drive the disputing passenger out of the cabin.

However, according to the same information, the pilot and the co-pilot of the plane intervened in the incident, with the result that the passenger returned to his seat and the flight left for its destination.
