Seven days before the end of the period of 70 days given by the legislation for renewal of registration licenses for 2019 and the payment of fees and renewal of registration license for another 276.314 cars is pending.
In the first 63 days, the license of 365.833 vehicles has been renewed. Until yesterday, the state received € 55,3 million from the almost € 100 million it expects to receive for 2019.
In relation to vehicles whose registration has not yet been renewed, as there are only seven days left until March 11 renewal is allowed without the automatic fine of 10% of the road tax plus € 10, the figures show that in order to renew all licenses, an average of 39.500 licenses will have to be renewed per day.
This year, it is worth remembering that the end of the period for renewal of marketing licenses, ie March 11, coincides with Net Monday, ie the last three days the renewals can be done only from personal computers and not from banks, post offices, TOM etc. τ.λ.
In total, the registered vehicles in Cyprus based on yesterday's official data of the Road Transport Department were 898.069. Of these, 49.656 do not pay traffic taxes, either as state, disability, etc.
This year, another record is set for vehicles whose owners say they have stopped. Specifically, until yesterday this number reached 106.266 vehicles, ie about every eighth car is now declared immobilized. On the same day last year, the number of immobilized vehicles was - again a record number - namely 94.964 vehicles.
If we remove the registered as immobilized and the vehicles that have free registration, the registration of 742.147 vehicles will have to be renewed.
