A new wave of cold is expected to hit Cyprus from Sunday, with a significant drop in temperature on Monday and new snowfall in semi-mountainous areas, as the Director of the Meteorological Department, Kleanthis Nikolaidis, told KYPE.
Asked how the new wave of bad weather affecting Greece will affect Cyprus, Mr. Nikolaidis said that the deterioration of the weather is expected to begin in the afternoon and Saturday night, as the region will be affected by cold gases. masses of the "Hope" system.
The bad weather in Cyprus will have "clearly lower intensity than in Greece", Mr. Nikolaidis explained to KYPE, adding that there will be no need to issue more serious warnings, apart from the yellow one.
As he said, on Saturday the weather will be cloudy and local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected, initially mainly in the western half of the island, with the phenomena later spreading to other areas, while snowfall is expected in the mountains.
