A study published by the BBC states that Cyprus is in fifth place in terms of weapons possession.

According to the study, one in three Cypriots have weapons in their home. According to a statement from the Animal Party, "in the last 10 years, 18 murders, homicides and pedophilia have been committed using shotguns."

Such is the announcement

The Party for the Animals of Cyprus has long warned that the possession and use of weapons as it exists today with the relevant legislation which gives the right (and for life) to citizens to own weapons and even up to 10 in number.

Surely all this brings to mind the last massacre that took place in America where a young man cold-bloodedly killed 19 children at school.

The study published by the BBC finger shows our country where we are in terms of this issue, ie we are in fifth (5) place and one in three Cypriots have weapons at home. For this reason we have repeatedly requested that the relevant legislation 113 (I) 2004 on Firearms and Non-Firearms should be immediately revised in the current context and facts.

We would also like to point out that the statement of the police representative that in the last 10 years 18 murders, homicides and pedophilia have been committed with the use of shotguns, that we should NOT miss the fact that there are also murders of innocent animals or with shotguns. or other types of weapons.

This alone shows us that weapons are NOT an instrument but violence against defenseless animals and that it is certainly transmitted within the family (domestic violence). Today's animal killers are tomorrow's human killers (see FBI study) and in any case animal crimes should be investigated with the same seriousness and stubbornness with which crimes against humans are investigated.

We immediately call on the legislature, all political parties to immediately review the legislation and withdraw unacceptable provisions and why we are simply concerned about the large number of gun owners (169.989 shotguns) (without taking into account the weapons of the reserve) but the most is that no one knows how many unwritten weapons there are (according to the police spokesman).
