Cyprus is a "fist" for little Antonis - His parents are shocked

Little Antonis The story of little Antonis

Road race, race with love, for a 22-month-old angel, whose eyes and smile enslaved the whole of Cyprus.

Little Antonis, in the 5th month of his life was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 1, a rare, degenerative and terminal disease.

His story became known on social media, while a big campaign was set up in an effort to secure the money needed for the ZOLGENSMA gene therapy, amounting to 2 million euros, a treatment that not only treats the disease but gradually cures it.

It is aimed at children with Spinal Muscular Atrophy up to two years old and Antonis is a candidate to receive it until next October when he turns 2 years old.

His parents spoke to the camera about their only son, with their words shocking and touching everyone's soul.

According to his mother, the little one was perfectly fine for the first four months of his life.

However, he suddenly became sluggish.

Frequent visits to the pediatrician followed and transfer to Makarios Hospital where the diagnosis was made.

"I lost the earth under my feet. "We cried for 40 days as if we were in mourning," his mother said with obvious emotion.

The little one until the eighth month, was paralyzed, while he could not even move his fingers.

He even found it difficult to swallow, today after a year of treatment he can sit down using his arms to a point and move his legs, his father said.
