The President of Bulgaria arrived in Cyprus for an official visit

At 11 in the morning, the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev arrived at the Presidential Palace and is paying a two-day official visit to Cyprus.

The Bulgarian President was welcomed by the President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis, while a military procession paid tribute.

This was followed by the rebuttal of the National Anthems of Cyprus and Bulgaria and then the President of Radev laid a wreath at the statue of Ethnarch Makarios DG.

It is noted that Bulgaria takes over the Presidency of the Council of the EU on 1 January 2018.

This will be followed by a private meeting of the two Presidents and extended talks between the official delegations of the two countries. Bilateral agreements in the fields of merchant shipping, education, culture and science are also expected to be signed. The statements of the two Presidents will be made at noon.
