Stefanos Stefanou was elected the new General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL on Sunday afternoon.
The new Secretary General was nominated by the new Central Committee of the party, which consists of 105 members.
As announced, Stefanos Stefanou from the 103 valid votes received 74 votes or 71,84%, while his rival, George Loukaidis received 29 votes or 28,16%.
