Events (weddings, baptisms, etc.) have been left out due to the deteriorating epidemiological picture of the country and the increased incidence in the community.

According to the latest information from the Ministry of Health, the events industry would be reopened from May 17 onwards, but the announcement of the lockdown that will last from today until May 9 raises strong concerns if the restart date is finally valid.

Speaking to SigmaLive, the President of the Pancyprian Association of Professional Events (PASYEPEK), Konstantinos Mosaikos, stated that they are still waiting for the Ministry of Health to announce the new protocols for the events.

At the same time, he clarified that all the weddings that were scheduled for May have been canceled, while smaller events, such as baptisms, await the announcements from the Ministry of Health, if it will finally be possible to hold the events.

"The Ministry of Health must announce the protocols so that couples who have their weddings planned for the summer know under what conditions and under what restrictions they can get married. "Couples may choose not to get married if the protocols are not in line with the way they would like to get married."

"There is reluctance on the part of couples, no one wants to get married with 900 cases a day," he said.

In conclusion, its exception is for the Ministry of Health to come out immediately to announce the protocols so that they themselves know what to say to the couples who ask for answers from the professionals of the events.

"The method of silence does not benefit anyone," he said.
