Which companies are CLOSING

According to today's decision of the Council of Ministers, in the context of a series of measures adopted by the Government for the protection of Public Health and the management of the effects of the coronavirus epidemic, it is clarified that from March 16, 2020 from 6 p.m. and for a period of four weeks, the operation must be suspended of the following companies:

  • Shopping malls, department stores
  • Cafes, cafes, bars and all catering businesses. (Delivery services are excluded.)
  • Entertainment centers
  • Cinemas, theaters, theaters
  • Libraries
  • Museums, archeological and historical sites
  • Gambling Agencies, Casinos, etc.
  • Sports facilities, sports clubs, cultural clubs and clubs
  • Theme parks (amusement parks etc)
  • Barbers, hairdressers, beauty salons-massage

As they are required to comply with and strictly adhere to the rules of hygiene, businesses may perform administrative or other work behind closed doors.

Which companies REMAIN OPEN

For reasons of health safety and the proper functioning of the community, remain open the following business categories:

  • Food retail, eg supermarkets, if the measure of presence in the same space is observed at any time number of people, including employees, which will not exceed one person per 8 square meters of usable space.
  • Pharmacies
  • Private health services (clinical workshops)
  • Popular markets
  • Bakeries and patisseries (without table-seats)
  • Gas stations
  • Pavilions

It is clarified that the retail companies that do not fall into the category of suspension of their work, can continue their work, ensuring that in the workplace there will be no more than five employees.

As for the operation of the hotels, they suspend their operations until April 30, 2020. In order to serve their existing customers, they can continue their operation for a period of six days from today.

Regarding the service of the public by companies of private, public and wider public sector, it is pointed out that it is strictly valid that the presence of people in the service area should not exceed one person per 8 square meters.

Finally, relevant regulations regarding public transport will be announced within the day by the competent Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works.
