A 22-year prison sentence was imposed by the Permanent Criminal Court of Nicosia on Giorgos Christodoulou Zavrantonas, who was found guilty of a drug case.
Specifically, the defendant was found guilty of possessing and possessing with the intent to supply to other persons 15 kilograms of cocaine.
The time during which he was on trial is deducted from the serving of his sentence.
It is noted that he is charged with four other convictions for murder, drug possession, conspiracy to commit murder and possession of explosives.
The defendant's lawyer announced that he will appeal the decision.
