Tragedy occurred this morning in Chloraka as a 46-year-old man met a tragic death when, under circumstances that are being investigated, the apartment he lived in caught fire and was charred.
According to eyewitness Kostas Toulias, an employee of the Chlorakas Community Council, explosions were heard from the fire in an apartment on Piraeus Street and when he arrived at the scene, he heard voices and cries.
"We tried to go up to the apartment," said Andreas Nearchou, but the thick smoke did not allow us to get any closer.
According to the Police, a medical examiner is expected at the scene to perform an autopsy on the victim's body.
