The Road Safety Unit of REACTION raises the issue of increasing the penalties for stopping traffic collisions, after the last traffic collisions and once again calls on all competent bodies to take measures, because Cyprus can not stand other dead on the asphalt.
In today's announcement, the Press, Public & International Relations Office REACTION Youth for the Prevention states that if there are to be double and triple sessions every week in the competent committees of the Parliament, they should do it immediately and discuss the measures.
The President of REACTION, Marios Stavrou, stressed that the amendments to the legislative framework and the strengthening of road safety should be discussed and voted on immediately.
"They must be voted before the Parliament closes for the summer holidays. Human lives are lost, houses are closed, there is no more room. I personally call on the President of the Republic, the Speaker of the Parliament and all the deputies to promote the measures they have before them ", underlines Mr. Stavrou.
As he said "if funds should be released for reinforcement and / or improvement of the road network to do it immediately", to note that "if configurations need to be made in the framework for immediate installation of the photo marking system to do it immediately".
He concluded that "if the whole road safety strategy needs to be redesigned then do it before we lose other young people."
