At 11:41, a call was received about a work accident in a building under construction in the Mathikolonis area, in Limassol. Members of the Police and Fire Service responded, from the Agios Nikolaos Fire Station, with a team and a Rescue Vehicle. A foreign worker had a fall from the fourth truss of metal scaffolding, on which he was working, to the second truss, a distance of approximately 5 meters. The injured man was retrieved by the rescue team and after being placed on an immobilization stretcher, he was handed over to an ambulance for transport to the Limassol General Hospital. An officer from the Labor Inspection Office attended the scene. The causes of the accident will be investigated in cooperation with the Police and the Labor Inspection Department.
At 21:01 p.m., a call was received about a traffic accident with trapped people in Kolossi community, Limassol. Members of the Police and Fire Service responded, from the Monovolikos Fire Station, with a team and a Rescue Vehicle. The drivers of the two vehicles were extricated using rescue equipment, in collaboration with the rescue team of the British Bases Fire Station, and were handed over to ambulances for transport to the Limassol General Hospital.
At 22:24, a call was received about a fire in a vehicle, which was parked in a field, in the area of Geri, in the province of Nicosia. The Police and the Fire Service responded with two staffed fire engines from the Acropolis Fire Station Sergeant Spyros Ttantis. The vehicle was extensively damaged by the fire and heat. An investigation into the cause of the fire will follow later today, in collaboration with the Police.
At 03:49, a call was received about a fire in a vehicle, which was parked on the side of the road in the area of Strovolos, in the province of Nicosia. The Police and the Fire Service responded with two staffed fire engines from the Lakatamia Fire Station. The vehicle was extensively damaged by the fire and heat.
