Another boat with 95 refugees from Syria arrived in Cyprus in the last hours and mobilized the authorities of the Republic. According to information transmitted by SigmaLive, some of them were interrogated by the authorities to whom they reported that a large number of immigrants are on their way to Cyprus.
The Minister of the Interior Konstantinos Ioannou contacted the Lebanese authorities to whom he conveyed all the information, requesting that measures be taken to stop the boats, as provided for in the agreement between the two countries.
The Lebanese authorities replied that they would respond, however the authorities of the Republic have been mobilized and, with instructions from the Minister of the Interior, are preparing to be able to respond if the information about a mass descent of a large number of refugees is confirmed.
